- Southwest Storylines, my column profiling some of the most interesting people and places in southwestern New Mexico, in January 2012 ended a 3+-year run in Desert Exposure, the best little newspaper in the region. - My book, The Jaguar's Shadow: Searching for a Mythic Cat, was published by Yale University Press in fall 2009 and documents my quest to see a jaguar in the wild. Inspired by photos taken of these big cats (no fooling) in Arizona and New Mexico, I made my way through Mexico and Central America, prowling through jungles, savannas, and swamps.
