Since becoming a freelancer in the early 1970s,
Richard Mahler has written thousands of articles
on scores of subjects for hundreds of
publications. Over the years, he has specialized
at various times in writing about media, the
arts, health, nature, travel, Latino affairs,
indigenous cultures, and personal
transformation. Richard has been a
newspaper columnist, a newsletter and magazine editor, public relations writer, fact-checker, photographer, and researcher. In addition, he
has written hundreds of scripts for public radio
